Who is responsible for this site?
Mike Layne Media, LLC operates mikelayne.com and the Mike Layne brand. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Mike Layne Media, LLC. This policy covers our website, guide signups, email communications, and information we receive through our related social media accounts.
For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected] with “Privacy request” in the subject line.
Information we collect
- Information you provide. Our guide signup forms ask for your first name and email address. If you email us or send a social media message, we receive your contact information and whatever you choose to include. Please do not send account passwords, Social Security numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive information.
- Website and device information. Our hosting platform, Kajabi, and its service providers collect technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, links clicked, referring pages, and cookie identifiers.
- Email activity. Our email platform can record delivery, opens, link clicks, subscription status, and unsubscribe activity. Open measurements can be affected by your email provider’s privacy features.
- Social media interactions. When you interact with Mike Layne on Facebook or Instagram, we may receive your public profile name, comments, messages, and information you share. We use ManyChat to help respond to requests and deliver links through those platforms.
How we use information
We use information to deliver requested guides, send the follow-up emails described on signup forms, provide practical emails and relevant offers, respond to questions, manage subscriptions, understand which content is useful, maintain the website, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
The current guide signup pages describe a free guide, five daily follow-ups, and subsequent practical emails from Mike Layne. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails. Unsubscribing does not necessarily delete earlier correspondence or records needed to honor your opt-out.
Cookies and similar technology
This site uses Kajabi’s cookies and similar technologies for site operation, security, and usage measurement. These technologies can recognize a browser and record visits or interactions. Some forms also use Google reCAPTCHA to help prevent spam and abuse.
As of the date above, the site’s Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel integrations are not enabled. Kajabi’s own analytics still operate.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect forms and other features. This site does not currently change its behavior in response to a browser “Do Not Track” signal. Browser settings do not necessarily prevent all technical or server-side data collection.
Service providers and information sharing
We use Kajabi for website hosting, signup forms, contact management, guide delivery, and email communications. We also use email providers and, for social messaging, ManyChat and the relevant social platform. These services receive information needed to provide their functions.
We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect rights or safety, or to professional advisers assisting with those matters. Information may also be transferred as part of a business sale or reorganization, subject to applicable law, or shared when you direct us to do so.
Facebook, Instagram, Google, affiliate merchants, and other services have their own privacy notices for activities they control. When you follow an external link, including an affiliate link, that provider may collect information about your visit or purchase. An affiliate network or merchant may use cookies or referral identifiers to attribute a referral.
Retention and security
We keep information for the purposes described here, taking into account your subscription status, ongoing correspondence, recordkeeping needs, legal obligations, and the need to honor unsubscribe requests. Retention periods vary by type of information and the services involved. You can ask us to delete information using the contact address above; some records may need to be retained where permitted or required by law.
We use the access controls and security features available through our service providers. No website, email system, or method of electronic storage can guarantee complete security. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can choose not to submit a form, unsubscribe from marketing emails, adjust browser cookie settings, or contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may also have rights to obtain a copy of your information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or appeal a decision about a privacy request. You may have the right to contact your local privacy regulator.
Send requests to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will address requests as required by applicable law. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Children’s information
This site is intended for an adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.
